Tarah Rider Berry is a freelance photographer, visual artist and writer. She has lived and photographed in South Phoenix for the last 23 years.
Tarah has completed several public art projects for different cities here in the valley, has worked as a freelance photojournalist and has helped teach and foster appreciation of photography in everyday life to both young people and adults.
Tarah’s work is represented in both museum and private collections. Her personal portfolios focus on photographing her friends, community and lesser known events and celebrations in South Phoenix. She is a strong advocate for music and creative projects for youth in her community.
Tarah has been actively photographing animal welfare situations for 20 years, ranging from back yard animal farming to public events and animals in her local community. She received a grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts in 1993 for her Animal Rites Project, an ongoing portfolio exploring families that still raise their own animals for food within the setting of the Phoenix metro area.
Tarah resides in the South Mountain area of Phoenix with her husband and three sons. She and her husband Kevin Berry comprise South Mountain Studios Sculpture, Photography and Design.
